After impressing in the season opener at LSU, Sam Houston State track and field visits another Southeastern Conference member, Texas A&M, on Friday at the Aggie Team Invitational.

Following several strong performances at the season-opening LSU Purple Tiger Invitational, Sam Houston track and field captured three-of-four Southland Conference weekly awards.

Sam Houston State track and field tallied eight top finishes while Garrett Larson and Ashley Jenkins each broke Bearkat school records at LSU's Purple Tiger Invitational.

It does not take long for eighth-year Sam Houston track and field head coach David Self to make clear the upcoming 2016 season could be a special one.
